This project is an exploration of natural form, to reveal its value in a world where our surroundings are often exploited and taken for granted.

Throughout history, artists have taken time to observe and to engage positively with the environment which sustains us.  Frances’ aim is to reinterpret these forms in a variety of media, sometimes in unexpected ways, so that the viewer can become a take part in their own discovery of the intricacies that lie beneath the surface, both physically and metaphorically.

Shadow is an important dynamic element of Artworks 1, 2 and 9.  Influenced by the work of landscape and environmental artists including Guiseppe Perrone, Richard Long, herman de vries,and Susie McMurray, and the mission of collectives such Groundwork Gallery.

Frances aims to capture the elemental beauty of the our natural world. She has deliberately explored media new to her, in order to develop her personal exploration of representation.
